Objectives This subject builds upon the skills and knowledge gained in GRN1115.

Synopsis Part 1: Language. Syllabus, assessment and textbooks as for GRN1115 part 1. Part 2: German social and cultural history from the First World War to the present day. An introduction to the history and culture of German-speaking countries from the First World War to the present day.

Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 75%
* Regular short homework exercises: 25%
