Organisational psychology

* Prerequisites: GAS2504 plus two subjects from GAS2501, GAS2502, GAS2503 or GAS2505

Objectives On the completion of this subject students will be able to understand industrial/organisational psychology as both a science and a profession; be able to relate the theoretical models and experimental findings to practical applications in the work place.

Synopsis This subject is designed to introduce the student to all aspects of human behaviour in organisations - the way organisational members are affected by an organisation and its environment, and the way an organisation is affected by its members and its environment. Emphasis is placed on systems-oriented organisational psychology, and on viewing organisational members as part of a work and social system. For distance education students, attendance at weekend schools is strongly recommended but not compulsory.

Assessment Literature review: 40%
* Final examination: 60%
* A pass on the examination is a requirement for successful completion of this subject
