Objectives As for EUR3430 with the additional objective that students should have mastered a critical understanding of the theories and ideologies presented in the reading material. In addition, students should have demonstrated an ability to interpret these theories, and to evaluate their arguments cogently.

Assessment Written (4000 words): 65%

(2 hours): 35%
* Option of 2000-word essay in place of an examination

Students doing EUR4430 will be given more demanding topics and expected to
demonstrate a substantial degree of understanding of the complexities of the
subject.
