Objectives Students successfully completing the minor thesis should have learned the skills of researching and writing an extended, original discussion of an original topic in relation to an approved original performance which will in part constitute both a means and an outcome of their research.

Synopsis The thesis is a written dissertation (15,000 words or equivalent), though suitable drama and theatre studies topics will normally be related in some way to a performance project, which enables some flexibility in the way it is presented. Proposals should reflect the student's involvement in the processes of production (as director, performer, dramaturg, rehearsal/performance analyst, etc., and should be developed in consultation with the staff of the centre before the end of the year preceding that in which the project is undertaken.
