Objectives As for CLS3880 with the additional objective that students will be expected to show a more sophisticated grasp of the theories of subjectivity and in particular be able to argue in an informed manner about the main lines of critique offered of the modern subject.

Synopsis As for CLS3880.

Assessment One essay (4500 words) focussing on problems relating to set texts: 50%
* One essay (4500 words) focussing on problems relating to cyberspace: 50%
* Students dooing CLS4880 will be given topics that demand a substantial additional degree of sophistication in reading and argument, a wide range of reference, and a deeper engagement with the complexities of the subject.
