Objectives As for CLS2860 with the additional objective that third-year students should be able to show how their greater accumulated knowledge can be used to articulate more sophisticated arguments about the issues.

Synopsis As for CLS2860.

Assessment Participation in discussion, (equivalent to 1200 words): 20%
* Class papers, (equivalent to 2400 words): 40%
* Essay (2400 words): 40%
* With the additional requirement that students at third-year level will be expected to tackle specific essay questions which will require them to make use of their greater accumulated knowledge and more sophisticated theoretical understanding and argumentative skills.
