Objectives To develop students' ability to produce, in respect of a significant archaeological topic or theme, an extended piece of analytical and critical work that reflects: (i) systematic and comprehensive data collection, (ii) consistent and sound methodology, (iii) clear and coherent organisation of content, (iv) cogent and convincing argument and (v) good presentation.
Synopsis The dissertation comprises around 10,000 words on an appropriate topic selected by students in consultation with the subject coordinators. It is regarded as a culminating test of students' ability to produce, in respect of a significant archaeological topic or theme, an extended piece of analytical and critical work.
