Visual arts research essay

Objectives Upon completion of this subject students should have learnt methods of original research, and developed skills in marshalling arguments and evidence in a sustained piece of research writing.

Synopsis The research essay should be on a topic chosen by the student and approved by the department. The essay will be written under supervision and students will be expected to meet regularly with their supervisors. The essay must be submitted in two typed copies, suitably bound, no later than the final day of the second semester.
