Objectives To complete the introduction of the writing system and provide students with the basic oral communication skills to interact in daily situations appropriately with respect to Thai cultural values
Synopsis This subject aims to extend the basic skills achieved in the first Thai course. The speaking component will allow students to operate in a wider variety of situations which include asking directions, describing locations, ordering food, buying things, time, expressing likes and dislikes, comparing,etc. Students will be introduced to the subleties and nuances of language and status. The writing and reading component will complete the introduction of all the tone rules. The course aims to enable students to demonstrate in writing at the level to which they can speak.
Assessment Examination (2 hours): 40%
* Oral
examination: 30%
* Assignments and classwork: 30%
