Objectives As for JST4180 with the additional objective of acquiring an awareness of the problems facing contemporary Japanese culture.

Assessment (8 points) Written assignment (3000 words): 60%
* Oral presentation (2000 words): 30%
* Seminar participation (1000 words): 10%
* The written assignment for students at fifth-year level will be required to demonstrate an awareness of the problems facing contemporary Japanese culture
