Objectives Students will have become acquainted with important theoretical concepts relating to the study of Indonesian literatures, taking examples from oral and written texts from different regions of Indonesia. Fifth-year students are expected to report their reading and analysis in the form of a number of academic exercises.
Synopsis Following a general introduction the subject of orality and literacy, performance and functionality are discussed and illustrated with examples from Minangkabau, Gorontalo, Java, Bali, Sunda, Sumatra and other literatures.
Assessment Written (6000 words): 60%

(3000 words): 40%
