Objectives As for HYM4980, with the additional objectives that students should develop a greater understanding of the comparative nature of American conservatism in relation to other political traditions, and of the relationships between religiosity and conservatism.
Synopsis As for HYM4980. In their research and seminar papers, students taking this subject at fifth-year level are expected to demonstrate a wider range of secondary reading and a more sophisticated understanding of the links between cultural and political conservatism.
Assessment (8 points) Seminar paper (1500 words): 20%
