Objectives As for HYM5960, with the additional objectives of developing a broader comprehension of the development of gender as a key analytical concept in various fields of history and of the recent theoretical and conceptual debates concerning the nature of `gendered histories'.
Synopsis As for HYM4960. In their written work, students doing the subject at fifth-year level are expected to demonstrate a wider range of reading and a more sophisticated understanding of the different theoretical approaches to the study of gender and gender identity.
