Objectives As for HYM4110, with the additional objectives that students should develop a more comprehensive understanding of the relationships between history, `heritage' and identity and of the methodological and epistemological debates concerning the `uses' of history.

Synopsis As for HYM4110. In their essays, students taking the subject at fifth-year level are expected to use a wider range of sources and to demonstrate a greater awareness of the major debates concerning the nature of `indigenous histories'.
