Objective Upon completion of this course a student should have acquired a greater depth of knowledge and understanding of a particular area of German studies.

Synopsis This subject consists of a guided reading of selected texts chosen to supplement a planned research project (normally the MA thesis). A reading list is prepared in consultation with the staff member, and discussions are held on a fortnightly basis.

Assessment Written (5000 words): 70%
* Examination (1 hour): 30%
