Objectives On completion of this subject students should have acquired greater understanding of a specialised area in French studies.

Synopsis This subject will provide the study in depth of a particular topic or topics in French culture, society, literature or linguistics. Students may propose their own topic(s) for consideration.

Assessment (8 points) One class paper (2500 words): 30%
* Essay (5000 words): 70%
