Objectives On successful completion of the subject, a student will have demonstrated a mastery of scholarly conventions and protocols, an ability to argue a complex case, by reference to texts, and to write in lucid English.
Synopsis A long essay of not more than 10,000 words on an approved topic of the candidate's own choice. Two copies of the research project must be submitted in typescript and suitably presented not later than 31 October. Comparative literature students are normally required to read literary texts in the original language.
