Advanced intermediate Chinese, part 1

Objectives On completion of this subject students are expected to have developed an understanding of some current issues in China; the ability to express personal views on such issues in Chinese; knowledge of grammatical framework and vocabularly that enables students to write and speak in relatively sophisticated manner; skills needed when watching authentic TV broadcast materials from China leading to broadening of knowledge about contemporary China.

Assessment Continuous assessment including class presentations, written tests and projects: 50%
* Written examination: 35%
* Oral examination: 15%
