Principles and practice of heritage management

Objectives Students should gain an understanding of basic principles of heritage identification, interpretation and management, and of the key dimensions of professional skill in the same; also an understanding of the scope and variety of practice in this field, and the means by which some common principles have been arrived at, both in the national and international context. Students should obtain an understanding of different approaches to heritage management in the built environment, in museums and with material culture. Students are also expected to undertake a special project study involving current issues and problems in heritage practice.
