Synopsis Most students taking this subject choose to take ALM4150 (Research design in applied linguistics) under the ALM4140 code. Students who do not wish to take ALM4150 (Research design in applied linguistics) may instead take a Master of Arts subject (fifth year) with adjusted assessment, or another subject at a suitable level (this may include the possibility of a `guided reading' course). Any student considering taking any subject other than ALM4150 (Research design in applied linguistics) under this code should contact the coordinator as soon as possible. All students taking the program by distance education normally take ALX4150 (Research design in applied linguistics) under this code.
