Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should be able to specify structural systems for a range of common interior projects to a professional standard; design structural details for a range of systems and one-off applications including jointing systems and interface systems; be able to brief structural engineers on the requirements for detailed development; understand the role and organisation of structural engineers.

Synopsis This subject introduces a series of interior projects in which the issues of structure and structural options are discussed and which students undertake specifications and validity calculations. The role and organisation of structural engineers are examined.
