Objectives By completion of this subject students are expected to have demonstrated an understanding of the variety of photographic approaches and a working method within which the student's own artistic and conceptual development can be extended; and an appreciation of the role photography plays in social history and culture.
Synopsis This subject assumes that students have a working knowledge of basic black and white photographic technique and allows them time to explore more specialised areas of interest. Artistic and conceptual development is emphasised. Both traditional and contemporary fine art images are studied in order to provide a context for the student's own work and a basis from which to experiment.
