Objectives On completion of this subject students are expected to have developed an approach which promotes experimentation and discovery in the creation of concepts and the manipulation of materials; the ability to research ideas and locate sources. A working knowledge of contemporary topics and issues relevant to the discipline.

Synopsis Although attendance at regular lecture sessions and participation in projects is compulsory, special emphasis on development of each student's individual direction is seen as most important in this subject. At least three hours of the allocated time per week will be devoted to additional drawing studies and journal work.
