Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should have the ability to pursue a personal program of study and practice within the broad parameters of the tapestry medium; be skilled in a broad range of fine art techniques including drawing, and other media appropriate to tapestry preparation; have a sophisticated understanding of contemporary tapestry practice and theory and of fine art practice generally; be producing a sustained body of work suitable for submission as a final folio; have the ability to critically evaluate their own work and the work of others in the context of contemporary art practice and theory.

Synopsis This final year studio practice concentrates on supporting students in their strongly self-motivated practice so as to develop the sound working habits necessary for a continued practice outside of the institution. The subject facilitates individual development and hones the practical and theoretical skills attained during the previous two years so students can complete a body of work expressing a particular and personal point of view. Studio investigations are supported by group and individual tutorials, talks, artists' visits and research suggestions as appropriate.
