Design management and business practices

Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should be able to understand and apply management theory with particular reference to small to medium manufacturing enterprises as well as consultant design studios.

Synopsis The syllabus includes studies of the basic legal, organisational and financial requirements involved in setting up and operating small to medium size businesses; and the preparation of business plans for establishing design studios and manufacturing companies with due regard to cost controls and quality assurance parameters.

Assessment Assignments: 50%
* Final written examination: 50%
