Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should have demonstrated great competence in drawing, a practised eye for the formal, expressive or perceptual subtleties of drawing; a personal view of the role of drawing within the crafts, design and the fine arts, supplemented, where appropriate, by recent theoretical literature; an active interest to extend the applications of drawing as (i) a tool in the development of craft objects, (ii) a means of representing objects and spaces already in existence and (iii) as a work of art in its own right.
Synopsis Through projects agreed to by the student and supervisor, the focus will be the qualitative development of drawing skills, concepts and methods, especially in relation to the student's chosen medium.
