Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students are expected to have demonstrated the ability to competently handle basic drawing materials and equipment; an understanding of an capacity to solve fundamental drawing problems; an understanding of the value of drawing as a primary method of visual exploration; the beginning of the practice of maintaining a visual diary, independently pursuing lines of visual research relevant to individual concerns; and the ability to present drawings in a folio in a manner appropriate to assessment requirements.
Synopsis This subject aims to develop in students the ability to handle basic drawing materials and equipment, to understand and solve fundamental drawing problems, and to understand the value of drawing as a primary method of visual exploration. Students are also expected to: begin the practice of maintaining a visual diary, pursue lines of visual research relevant to individual concerns and present a folio of drawings in a manner appropriate to assessment requirements.
