Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should be able to develop technical expertise on the potters' wheel and also demonstrate further development of hand building techniques; demonstrate understanding of surface treatment and firing techniques; develp skills associated with mould-making techniques; further develop an awareness of health and safety practice within the studio situation.

Synopsis This subject continues to build on the skills and understanding gained by students in CER1210 (Studio practice). Students will be presented with creative problems in ceramics through which they will increase their technical and aesthetic competence and develop a more personal approach in areas most suited to their talents and concepts.
