Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should be able to identify glass materials, their properties and their applications in various glass processes; measure and record data using appropriate laboratory procedures and technical resources; interpret and present test data; pursue individual research into aspects related to the theoretical content of the subject.
Synopsis This subject will develop in students an understanding of materials and processes. Students will experiment with industrial and studio-based glassmaking activities. Students will receive theoretical and practical instruction via lectures and structured laboratory research assignments.
Assessment Examination: 60%
