Objectives On successful completion of this subject, students should possess a broad range of abilities in glass forming techniques; be critically aware of their own work and articulate this through oral and written presentation; explore the symbolic and cultural references within their own and others glass practice; exercise autonomy over design processes; undertake research logically and confidently and perform a thorough analysis and synthesis of the results.

Synopsis This subject focuses on students' developing interests and direction in hot-blown, kiln-formed or architectural glass. Studio sessions and tutorials provide opportunity for self-expression and criticism, and encourage debate on issues of aesthetic, technical and cultural relevance. Independent investigation and interpretation is fostered through individual studio projects and research assignments.
