Synopsis This subject explores the diversity of animal structure, function and ecology of invertebrate and vertebrate animals. The relationships between the various animal species and the characters which have been used to group species into higher taxonomic groups are discussed and demonstrated in the practicals. Within each group the structural complexity is examined and related to the behaviour and ecology of species within the group.
