Inquiry and processing skills III

Objectives Demonstrate a sound knowledge base related to the research process; demonstrate a positive and informed attitude to qualitative and quantitative research; perform simple statistical tests; prepare a research proposal and ethics application; demonstrate an ability to read and critically analyse research literature.

Synopsis The subject introduces students to research methods. This incorporates an appreciation for utilising research in nursing and of understanding the critiquing of research literature. The subject is taught by lectures and tutorials.

Assessment Examination: 50% * Research proposal: 30% * Ethics application: 10% * Oral research critique presentation: 10%
