Global nursing issues IV

Objectives On completion of this subject students are expected to demonstrate a knowledge of common law and statute law pertinent to nursing practice; demonstrate an awareness of the legal implications of actions taken in nursing practice; discuss the legal implications of the nurse's professional relationship with the patient, the patient's relatives and associated professional colleagues; identify strategies that may be used to assist in resolving legal issues which arise in the nursing arena.

Synopsis Introduces students to Australian legal institutions and those aspects of the law which are relevant to current nursing practice. Assists students to engage in decision making with the requisite legal knowledge to meet their ongoing professional responsibilities.

Assessment Assignment: 60% * Examination: 40%
