Objectives On completion of this subject, students will be able to understand the requirements of computer literacy for health professionals; operate a microcomputer; explain the use of software packages in health care and aware of the applications and the social impact of computers in the health care environment.
Synopsis This subject aims to provide students with a knowledge of the basic concepts and terminology associated with computer technology; the ability to operate a microcomputer and associated peripheral devices; familiarity with the use and application of some common software packages; some examples of computer applications in health care.
