Objectives The student is expected to develop a detailed knowledge of selected hardware components in computer systems engineering; to gain confidence in designing and analysing complex digital systems; and to understand the concept and operation of large computer systems.
Synopsis Review of hardware and design techniques available for digital systems with emphasis on microcomputer-based applications. Computer system design and real-time operating systems. Study of the concepts of digital processing and filtering with relevant applications.
Assessment Examination: 30%
