Measurement and instrumentation

Objectives Student is expected to understand the use of transducers, analog and digital instruments in a measuring system; the student is expected to develop skills in error minimisation, interpretation of data and use of oscilloscopes.

Synopsis Statistical analysis of errors, calculation of errors in an experiment, characteristics and selection of analog meters, digital meters and signal processing, transducers theory and applications.

Assessment Examination: 70%
* Practical: 20%
* Assignment: 10%
