Automation with fluid power
J Stecki
4 points * 22 lectures, 12 tutorial/laboratory hours * Second semester * Clayton
Objectives The subject provides a coverage of the fundamentals of automation and its implementation through detailed formulation and parameter evaluation for designing and specifying equipment. The subject will provide knowledge of capabilities of present-generation automation system components, subsystems, and total systems.
Synopsis Automation, its technology and its social effects. Hydraulic control systems. Electrohydraulic systems. Powered drives for industrial robots and similar automation machines (electro-pneumatic, electro-hydraulic and electro-mechanical servo drives). Design and dynamic performance of hydraulic control systems, including power flow modelling and digital simulation. Synthesis of logic systems. Intelligent control of fluid power automation systems.
Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 60% * Other assessment: 40%
