Objectives The student is expected to develop an understanding of the behaviour of prestressed concrete members and structures and to acquire advanced professional skills in the design and detailing of prestressed concrete structural elements for strength and serviceability.
Synopsis Basic concepts; serviceability; ultimate flexural strength; design procedures for determinate beams; shear and torsion design; design of anchorage and end block zones; continuous beams; two-way slabs.
Assessment Examination (3 hours): 60% * Project: 20% * Assignments: 20%
