Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to formulate a plan for the project management and production of technology-based instructional materials and also develop to prototype and field test a set (or package or program) of technology-based instructional materials using at least two electronic development platforms (eg multimedia authoring, desktop publishing, video production, audio production).
Synopsis This subject deals with the application of information technologies to instruction. Examination and exploration will be made of computer-based technologies (eg multimedia, authoring tools, and non-electronic information vehicles). In particular the subject will focus on project management strategies and structures and considerations in designing and developing instructional materials, packages and programs.
Assessment Preparation of a project management profile and plan: 40%
* Development of materials prototype: 50%
* Field testing report: 10%
