Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have acquired basic competence in setting up a computer-based task, supervising a participant, developing visual representations of the data, and presenting and interpreting the data.
Synopsis This subject introduces students to research on aspects of learning and problem solving. Computers are used in this research, but computer programming skills are not required to complete the subject, as non-programmers can easily use the relevant software. Sessions will consist of tutorials and seminars. Emphasis is on using computers in research with developmentally disabled children and on using simple computer games to study learning and problem-solving strategies.
Assessment Practical work and written reports (6000 words): 100%
