Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have become familiar with the requirements for database definition and data entry, selection, sorting and reporting; constructed a database using appropriate software and provided examples of the reports which can be produced using this software; become familiar with the requirements for spreadsheet definition and data entry, manipulation and reporting; constructed a spreadsheet using appropriate software and provided examples of the reports which can be produced using this software; become familiar with basic concepts and procedures in systems analysis and design and used these in completing an investigation of the use of microcomputers in an administrative setting.
Synopsis This subject introduces students to concepts and procedures from systems analysis and design which are relevant to the school administrative setting. Students will require access to database and spreadsheet software to complete this subject.
Assessment Two assignments (1000 words each): 25% each
