Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be informed about recent and past developments of the visual arts curriculum; be able to demonstrate appropriate assessment and appraisal techniques; be able to review the content and procedures of instruction in art education; and be able to determine the integration of learning in visual art across the curriculum.
Synopsis This subject examines the primary art curriculum of the last twenty-five years in Victoria, the current curricula of South Australia and Queensland, and the National Curriculum statements and profiles in the visual arts strand of the arts. The subject is designed to enhance artistic knowledge and teaching skills with regard to art making and appreciation.
