Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have developed classroom observation skills; be able to plan units of work and lessons within those units; have developed monitoring and pupil evaluation skills.
Synopsis This subject is an introduction to teaching skills. Students will study key factors which have a bearing on successful teaching (in secondary schools) and salient issues with regard to class management. Such factors as observation, planning, questioning skills, materials and pupil evaluation will be systematically introduced to students. Students will then undertake supervised teaching in schools when they will be expected to practise the pedagogic skills to which they have been introduced.
