The course

After completion of a three-year Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Teaching or equivalent qualification and normally some teaching experience, students may take eight distance education subjects to qualify for a Bachelor of Education (Primary). These eight subjects must consist of at least six professional studies subjects selected from the list below. The remaining two subjects may be (a) a further two professional studies subjects; or (b) two general studies subjects; or (c) one professional studies subject and one general studies subject.

General studies subjects are subjects offered by schools other than the School of Education. Students usually complete the eight distance education subjects over two years of study.

1 All subjects are offered subject to staff availability and student demand.

2 Students enrolling in GEC4471 must have completed GEC4470.

3 An upper limit of eighty will apply to enrolments in any one subject.

4 A minimum number will apply to enrolments for any one subject.

5 Enrolments may be restricted in some subjects which require access to particular facilities.
