Objectives On completion of this subject students will be able to define and analyse different phases of a project and apply project management techniques to control resources and project schedules.
Synopsis This subject provides an understanding of the different phases of planning, scheduling and controlling projects. The main topics include cost estimating techniques; network analysis; time analysis and scheduling; CPM and PERT; resource allocation, resource scheduling, resource constraining and leveling; project costing, project scheduling and project control; example application in both manufacturing and service industries; review of commercially available software and use of PC-based project management package.
Assessment Assignment: 30%
* Examination (2 hours): 70%
