Synopsis Overview of robotics, current and future applications of robotics. Elements of a modern robotic device: drive, feedback control, programming methods, sensors. End effectors, design considerations, operational constraints, introduction to the kinematics and dynamics of robots, introduction to path and trajectory control.

Assessment Examinations (2 hours): 70%
* Written assignments: 30%
