The course

This one-year full-time or two-year part-time course offers selected students the opportunity for specialised study in banking and finance, management or marketing (full-time only) at an advanced level.

The course aims to provide a post-degree level of study for students seeking to widen their knowledge in one of the specialist areas offered by the departments and to expose students to both substantive theory and practice of research in the field of business. The course gives graduates the training necessary to conduct independent high-quality research in either business or academic settings, cultivates analytical and critical skills, and an awareness of emerging developments in business. The course is particularly suited to those who may wish to undertake further study at the higher degree level.

Objectives

On completion of the Bachelor of Business (Honours) course students should have:

Venue

Day and evening classes are offered at the Caulfield campus. The total formal time commitment is twelve hours per week for two semesters. Students should be prepared to devote approximately treble that time (ie a further thirty-six hours per week) to private study. This course is also offered at the Gippsland campus.

Course structure

To qualify for the honours degree, a candidate shall complete

one of and two subjects within a single stream as follows:

Banking and finance stream

Management stream

To qualify for the honours degree in the marketing stream, a candidate shall complete:
