Tourism management projects (evaluations and proposals)

* Prerequisite: Tourism submajor or equivalent

Objectives The primary objective of this subject is to extend the knowledge gained in previous tourism management subjects and to demonstrate how it can be applied in the management of tourism project developments. It aims also to develop skills in the research required to assess the feasibility of a proposal and to identify potential environmental constraints, and the ability to design a management plan which reflects social and environmental concerns and which will contribute to the sustainability of the project.

Synopsis Project description, environmental assessment, tourism profile, revenue projections, investment analysis, management plan, staffing, marketing.

Assessment Minor assignments (2): 40%
* Essay (2000 words)
* Major assignment (report 5000-10,000 words): 60%
