Objectives At the completion of this course students should be able to appreciate the different forms of business organisations; appreciate and understand the legal obligations of retailers in regard to liability for goods and services; have an understanding of payment systems, trade practices law and law relating to advertising; and know when to seek legal advice.

Synopsis Business organisation; business names and trade names; employment law; liability for goods and securities; payment systems; retailer and crime; trade descriptions and advertising; anti-competitive practices.

Assessment Assignment: 30%
* Examination (3 hours): 70%
