Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to collect and understand data relevant to banking, finance and international trade; determine and apply relevant statistical techniques to enable analysis, forecasting and valid statistical conclusions to be drawn; understand the limitation of data and technique used in forecasting and making conclusions.
Synopsis Development of statistical tools and methodology to enable students to make statistical inferences about population parameters; data collection and control; simple and multiple regression analyses, time-series analysis, forecasting methodology and control.
Assessment Three assignments: 40%
* Examination closed-book (2
hours): 60%. Students must pass the final examination which will cover the
entire course.
